Widget Watch: iStat pro
Here's a widget that nearly any geek would love. iStat pro is a Dashboard widget that keeps tabs on your system, reporting on CPU activity, memory, network status and information, temperature, fan activity, available disk space (on all connected drives) and more. Plus, it looks great while doing it. The interface is customizable and very easy to read. Definitely worth checking out.[Via Resexcellence]

I wholeheartedly agree with Craig: there is really nothing that can beat iPulse. it's compact, complete and a beautiful information graphics showcase.

My Windows friends have always been very impressed by Dashboard. VERY. But they always ask So what else can you use it for? I think this is one of those Widgets that fits well into that What else can be done with it type of catagory.
April 14 2006 at 4:23 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe temperature and fans sections for iStat pro do not work on Intel Macs.
April 14 2006 at 3:54 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'll stick to using miniStat2. To me is more smplistic and easy to understand. Offers all the info I'm concerned about and is skinable :)
April 14 2006 at 3:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI use this widget, though I really prefer to use Activity Monitor for cpu monitoring, with the added bonus of having the seperate monitor and changable dock monitor for different information. This widget is just a nice follow-up for the trips to dashboard for notes or weather checks/gmail checks.

April 14 2006 at 3:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThorn, the temperatures don't work in iStat nano. Now, that doesn't mean iStat pro can't do it, but I'm just kinda guessing it doesn't work.
