Pocketlight brings (some) Spotlight to Panther

If you're still using Panther for one reason or another but drool when you hear the word 'Spotlight,' an app by the name of Pocketlight can bring a little bit of Tiger to your Panther. Pocketlight isn't nearly as all-encompassing as Spotlight, but it can search Mail.app mailboxes, iCal events, Address Book contacts and files in a specified folder. In an odd turn of events, Pocketlight is only available for Mac OS X 10.3; not 10.4.
Pocketlight is free, but the author states that it isn't going to be updated or enhanced from here on out, so grab it while you can.

two things:
why is it an odd turn of events? as you said yourself, this app is made for panther users, not tiger users. people who are on 10.4 already have spotlight so why would they need this?
and why should i "grab it while i can?" you said it won't be updated or enhanced, not that it will be taken off the site.
strange article. but thanks for the info.

#1: I probably should have explained myself better:
- I thought it was an odd turn of events in that, generally speaking, it's not every day you see an app made JUST for Panther and not Tiger.
- I mentioned 'get it while you can' because I'm personally seeing little projects and apps that are discontinued like this wind up eventually disappearing from existence, sometimes not even being released as open source; just *poof* and they're gone.

KEVIN:
"In an odd turn of events" is a joke, and your second point, too. You need more fun in your life.

Actually, the main reason I stuck with Panther is because I *hate* Spotlight. It can be disabled, but even then it's search isn't as good as Panther's, and there are no other compelling features in it for me to make it my day-to-day OS. I'll stick with 10.3 for as long as I can. I do run Tiger on one box at home, but only because Media Central requires it.
