Mac mini "bundles" at Costco
ifoAppleStore is pointing out a
pretty good deal discovered at Costco. A Mac mini, wireless keyboard and mouse and Apple Care plan are all bundled
together in one big, plastic package for $699US. Compare that to $847US for a similarly equipped, low-end mini (we
don't know the stats of the mini in the package. Has anyone seen one of these?). We suggest you get in your car right
now and drive to Costco!

Shouldn't this be posted under the mac mini category?

April 21 2006 at 5:39 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySeveral weeks ago, Costco had a slew of iMac G5's at a bit of same closeout pricing.
I worry that people buy these off the shelves are thinking they are getting the newest stuff, as most of Costco's inventory is "new" product. Only to find out later that they have "last year's" model. D-Oh!
Granted, they are still decent running machines at a decent price. But, once they load Leopard, there will start to be bigger differences.
Imagine:
Proud father thinking he's going to get "cool" points brings home suprise for kids... iMac and a Mac Mini!
"Ahhh... Dad, this is like so outdated. Why couldn't you get a *NEW* one?"
Father sulks and repackages the computers, hoping he can still return them...
Just got back from Costco in Santa Rosa, CA. They have at least a dozen of these Mac minis for sale, and it's the 1.42 GHz G4 version. They used to have the iMac G5s about a month ago, but those are all gone.

Anyways, I'm sure I could find a cheaper Mini on eBay + the extra stuff that comes with the package.
I think that was, just possibly, the best response ever.
April 20 2006 at 7:49 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI've come to expect these kinds of comments. I think I'm an okay looking girl. I'm 20 but I don't look nearly my age at all. So if you were to see a picture of me and think I'm hot, some people might consider you a pedophile.
Specs on the Mini look very good. I may have to run down to Costco soonish.
Geez, give women (and girls) a break. Even if she is hot (we can only assume that since she likes Macs she is smart and interesting) she won't come on and say she's hot because then she'll be spammed like crazy and nobody likes that. Despite what guys think. It is not fun being stalked. I know from personal experience having been stalked by a woman.
As far as the Mac mini. Yes it is a G4. My Costco (near Seattle) has quite a few G5 iMacs too.
This news is like a month or two old!;-)
