iPod as turntable with iScratch
Many DJ's
have added iPods to their setups, and some cool equipment
has been made available for them. Now, here's a piece of software for you all to use: iScratch.iScratch lets you scratch and reverse audio tracks on your iPod, using the scroll wheel as you would a turn table. Note that iScratch requires you to install Linux on your iPod, so you have been warned.
So, with that in mind, get to it. iScratch is free and open source.

Would a native ("iPodOS"?) version be possible for those of us with Tux-phobia?

Cool - i've just remembered i've got an old 20gb 3G (with a semi-broken hard drive - 9gb of it works though!) which would be perfect to give this a try on.

Awwrigt dirtbags. There is no place to find that file from the links. AND it only works with Wavs. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for something like this. Specially on my solid state ipod. It seems to be aways off though. And Podzilla is great. Don't chicken out. It's like the dual boot. Pick one or the other OS on Startup. WAH WAH WAH WAH (I should call you guys a WAmbulance)

Seriously, there is no place to download this. If someone gets a link, post it and I'll buy you a cheeseburger, and give you a hug (Not in typically in that order) I'll try anything, even though using Wavs makes me feel dirty inside.

this is the second time I've seen this torturous post made on my daily blog readings...AND THERE IS STILL NO LINK to the ef'n software.
If I see this page posted again I'm going to lose it...where the hell is the link? Why keep bloging about something when you can't try it, and have no idea if it actually works.
am I just blind?
come on.

It is fairly obvious to me that Shosei Oishi, the "author" of iScratch, has pulled a fast one on a lot of you. All this person did was change the name of the "recordings" menu to "scratchings" and POOF! An intriguing piece of vaporware is born. I have done a massive amount of searching on the internet and elsewhere and not only can I not find a copy of this incredible little modification, I cannot find a single audio clip from any one of this artist's performances. I suspect this overeager student wanted to create some buzz for his performance group "The Breadboard Band" and was successful. Too bad the band sucks and the "developer" is a liar.
