iPods spotted at Sam's Club

I don't know how long this has been going on, but Sam's Club apparently carries the iPod. I spotted it at my neighborhood Club this weekend at the lowest price I've seen so far: $289.98 for a 5G 30 GB black model. Maybe they didn't want to let Cosco have all the fun in selling iMacs?

No word on whether Apple Stores will match this price, nor when the 24 iPod bulk pack will be available.

Costco has iPods of every flavor: black, white, 30Gb, 60Gb, nano, full size... Makes me hopeful for some nice new products coming from Apple. They also still have the G5 iMacs in my local one too.
(Oh, and XBox 360's with PGR and two wireless controllers for $480 - what shortage?!)

#7 This is the packaging at Sam's. Costco's is about a third of that and the insert can be changed out so the packaging can be reused....just so you know. :)

Those are not the packages you get to take with you... They are just empty ones that are larger to better fill up a pallet space.

A friend of mine who just bought his first Mac, an intel mini, bought a video ipod at Sams Club over the weekend. He has an ipod mini so now he owns three Apple products.

I saw this as well for the first time this weekend. I think it's only Apple product in the entire sore. I still can't afford to buy a new iPod yet, though. I'm waiting for the 30% off sale.

Why do you need a large anti-theft box when the box is empty (as labeled). Costco is going to go to eco-hell for that kind of over-packaging.

Notonly are these at Costco, but Costco is also selling the Mac Mini in the same plastic packaging.

I had never noticed the Mini being sold at Costco before or not...

Not about price, all about placement. It's there, and many who have wanted it will get it there because they think they're getting the best possible bargain.
