TUAW Poll: The new Mac ads
We've all seen
the ads by now, so it's time to ask the question: What do you
think? Are the "Get a Mac" ads another example of Apple's quirky brilliance, or do the lack of specifics (OS,
processor speeds, etc.) leave you wanting? Take our poll below, and check back tomorrow for the results.Share

I really liked the networking one, other than that the rest of them were just OK. I find it interesting that one of the selling points on the Get a Mac page (#6) is that you can even run Windows. Never thought I would see the day that Windows beame a selling point for an Apple product. I smell a conspiracy!

The Viruses ad is hilarious! I tell people that in our 3 Mac house, 10 years online with 'em, not a single virus. They always come up with the 3-5% market-share reason for this, but I know better!
The mac and pc dudes r fruit bags. FAGGOTS "hey guys we speak the same language lets hook up." We will have joygasms.

Playing devils advocate for the horribly ignorant, let's pretend someone doesn't know that Mac is a product marketed by Apple. They're not going to have much luck finding it. Even if they use their existing PC (if they have one) to go to www.mac.com, they're going to end up on a screen showcasing dot mac, not a computer, and some people could be thrown by that. Granted, not all people are this ignorant. But in my field of work, I do a lot of user testing and you'd be surprised at how many people are.
They could have at least included www.apple.com below the iMac at the end.
Absolutely fantastic ads. Funny and people-oriented - they show that computers aren't just about geek stuff.

Well I guess the last iMac commercial made it..just, fingers in the UK crossed eh?
I agree that the guy representing the mac should wear casual, but he's underdressed concerning the stylish design of macs... they should have put him into designer clothes or so... whatever. the ad is very funny and it targets exacltly to the tipically fed-up-with-my-spybot-virusinfested-box windows user.

I like them a lot, but also agree that they could have done something to showcase the design of the computer -- ie. PC Guy struggling to hold a big PC tower, and the Mac Guy holding a Mini in each hand (or in the pocket of his hoodie)....
ironic though about it crashing...
Haha, I didn't notice that the first time. The camera chick says "Who is this? He looks like an otaku, doesn't he?" (otaku = geek, fanboy, etc.).
It is to laugh.
When are we going to see a commercial made from straight full-motion screen captures (spiced up with some Motion work and a great soundtrack, of course) of OS X and various iLife apps in action? Don't TELL people Macs are better, SHOW them!
Wouldn't it be cool to see a commercial that started with the full-screen OS X desktop background and the dock (using magnification just for some pizzazz)?
