While tinkering in Quicksilver's plug-ins panel this morning I came across two new plug-ins that should fit right in with my new
The Google Calendar module seems to use their Quick Add syntax for adding events. For a quick tutorial on this: invoke Quicksilver and then hit period so you can begin entering plain text. Enter something like "Apple Store Opening Saturday 10 am," then hit tab to move to Quicksilver's second pane to chose an action. If you have the Google Calendar module installed, the action is titled "Google Calendar Event" (using 'gcal' works just fine for me). Hitting enter will send the event, and for bonus points, if you have Growl installed and Quicksilver using it to give notifications, you'll receive a Growl alert upon successful completion.
The Gmail module (pictured) allows you to compose a message (or at least part of one) using the same method as both the Google Calendar and Mail.app compose actions. Once you type some text, tab over to chose the Gmail action, you'll receive a 3rd pane that allows you to specify an Address Book contact to send to. Hitting enter will create a Gmail compose window with all the information you chose from Quicksilver already inserted. Awesome.

The Google Calendar Module does not work for me. I installed it and typed what you mentioned "Apple store opening saturday 10 am". I see the growl notification that the event was added but nothing shows up in my Google Calendar. Am I missing something ?

Huh. I guess there is some delay in adding the event. I just checked (it's been about 5 minute since I added the event) and the event is now showing up in the calendar. Thanks for the tip !

This is awesome. Another reason why the Mac rules.
Hey, can I ask why your quicksilver looks so different from mine? Or is that too n00b?

From Quicksilver's plugin panel in the preferences.
If you need help getting there: invoke Quicksilver, then hit cmd - , (the standard preferences shortcut) and that'll open the prefs. Just go to the plug-ins tab and enjoy.

How did you manage to get your Quicksilver to look like that? What theme is it?

Awesome find - thanks!
now I'd love a plugin to search my gmail/gcal through Quicksilver....
On the email topic, if you choose GmailStatus as your email handler in Quicksilver Prefs, then you can set your middle pane to 'Email to (Send Directly)' and it'll shoot an email off from Quicksilver w/o having to pop up and window and do anything else - course what you typed will be the subject line AND the email, but for a time saver, I can live with that.

#7: The theme is actually in QS's plugins list. It's called "Flashlight interface," there's a bunch of others such as menu, window, etc., but I find this one to be the most visually appealing, unintrusive and easiest to use.

I love the look of his Quicksilver! I found the Flashlight interface in the plug-ins section of mine but can't figure out how to make it work... Can anyone help?

After installing the Flashlight plugin, go back to the Appearance section of the preferences. You'll now be able to select Flashlight as an option in the Command Interface dropdown.

The gcal pluggin didn't always work for me. I was wondering if anyone else could verify a similar error? At 1:30 am today (Friday) I tried to add the following event: "Work on Monday from 8am until 3pm". Growl says I added it but when I look at my gcal, it is added for yesterday for only half an hour. Weird.
If type this same text in Gcal's quick add, it works perfectly. Obviously, the module is not simply sending the text off to the quick add, but perhaps trying to interpret first?

Hm, whenever I try to make a calendar event through the module it prompts me for my username and password, and wehn I enter it, QS crashes. Odd
Also, I can't get QS to register itself with Growl, any suggestions?
third (i'm a moron) what is GmailStatus? I have Gmail Notifier as my default mail handler, and the send directly function doesn't appear to work correctly (basically the mail doesn't go out).
Thanks for any pointers!

Okay, this is a great post, if only for alerting me to all the other menu interfaces that QS has. Thanks guys.

Don't know if anyone is still paying attention to this post but I can't get the Gmail module to work. It doesn't appear to load in QuickSilver. I install it but the diamond is never filled, the Gmail action doesn't seem to exist? Any hints?
