Google looking for a Mac Engineering Manager
That's right folks, Google is looking for someone to manage 15 plus engineers that are working on Mac related projects. Hopefully this will mean that future Google products will support Macs right out of the gate, instead of a few weeks later.

Quite.
Google are trying damn hard to be good to our platform and I respect them for that. Adium featuring in the summer of code, the eventual Mac port of the excellent Google Earth (bought originally from nVidia if I remember as a windows only app), they're on the right track. Forgetting the little China thing (a friend was there recently and the government even blocks Wikipedia!) Google have some kudos points in my book.
Of course the day they start charging for everything they do would be a different story!

Whine, whine, whine! Like a little kid. You'd think the name of this site is Teenage Unwed Apple Weblog.

picasa is already an iphoto clone, so why bother. a lot of the so innovative google products are acutally ports of mac software to the pc.

to trusk...
i wish apple would incorporate the google earth features in photos and that sort of stuff... hopefully this google hiring of mac people means that they will work together a little closer...

iphoto has some nice features, like full screen editting, but it's very sluggish compared to picasa. picasa also has some editing features that i miss on iphoto.

picasa is like an evolved iphoto, but the innovation on this one came from apple. i also think that iphoto lacks some features picasa has (i guess apple didn't want iphoto to challenge aperture).
most google pack products have an iLife look and feel... that's not bad actually. i just hope they will create great NEW and innovative products for mac.

Don't forget about Google Talk. We're still waiting for that one.

well at least the VOIP support, as it already works for IMing with a jabber account in ichat. actually everybody is waiting for google talk to be supported by any os (like skype: xp, osx, linux) and to finally have a video chat / encryption functionality. yeah and it couldn't hurt if they would use completely open standards. so much for my google talk wishlist =)
