Security Update 2006-003
Apple also released Security Update 2006-003 today (which, if you're counting, is the third such security update for this year). This update includes files for both server and client editions of OS X, as well as files for OS X 10.3.9 through OS X 10.4.6.This fixes a host of security issues, so I won't list them here but if you are interested check out the tech note.
Update: Brent points out, correctly, that there have been 9 security updates so far this year, however, I was correct in that this is the third OS specific update of the year. Don't you just like it when everyone is right?

Installed the 2006-003 update on a macbook pro and... filmaker pro 6 now places my machine into deep freeze on launch. yecchh. I need this app to work in a bad way.

When my system freezes, the mouse still moves, the windowing system is dead, the system reacts to ping still (so the kernel is still working) but I cannot log in with a remote shell (ssh) so at least some services are down.
Let's hope Apple soon fixes this.
i have a problem with unrarx... the freeze problem was solved with the removal of version cue, but everytime I use unrarx my 20" imac core duo freezes.

Shame on Apple for not testing with this. I think we'll see an update soon.
So unless you did a backup right before installing Security Updates (which I plan to do now in the future), how does one remove a Security Update that is already installed? or is there a way?
I had to use target-disk-mode to get into my system and delete the Version Cue startup files. Darn thing wouldn't even boot into safe-mode.

Oops.. sorry... forogot it was Apple who released it.
Well done Apple for spotting so many flaws this year and sorting them out.
Removing VersionCue works on my MacBook Pro. I also had to reinstall another startup item -- DoubleCommand. Waiting for Apple to fix this...
