Bono gives Bush iPod
President Bush has an iPod. This isn't exactly breaking news here on TUAW, however, according to this Rueters story Bono gave President Bush an iPod. It isn't clear what model iPod it was, but I imagine it was one of the video enable iPods that the President wanted. The article also lists a number of other presents that Pres. Bush received, including a chainsaw.

Wow, that's the most mature post I've ever seen. I'm glad Ireland has one star, he deserves it.

That's nice of Bono. One person that wants world peace giving a gift to someone that fights against world peace.
Maybe the chainsaw gift was hinting at what Bush will be doing on Jan 21, 2009.

Tell him it's a new-fangled gas-powered toothbrush.

My god, what childish politics. Bush may not get to keep the iPod, anyway. Federal law requires that people in federal positions must turn over any gifts to the government, and not keep them for personal use. Maybe there's a dollar value limit that lets him keep small gifts, but I don't know if the iPod falls on one side or the other.
Still, it's a nice gesture and it would've been interesting to listen to their conversation - whether you agree with either of their politics or not.

Buck Fush!!!!
Maybe he's wiretapping our iPods too. Should've given the iPod to some homeless New Orleans kid or to Valerie Plame.

If this is the intellectual level of political commentary we can expect whenever Bush gets a mention, we just don't need to hear about him. Honestly guys, I heard more cogent political banter during recess in third grade.

Could be a red iPod of some sort, as part of the 'Red' campaign Bono is running as an AIDS awareness/findraising exercise (corporations made limited edition versions of their products in red, a chunk of the money goes to charity).
Apple has worked with Bono in the past, I imagine something like red iPods would be exactly what Bono is looking for.

From the Article:
> Bush's ranch in Crawford was valued at more than $1 million to $5 million.
I normally assume that if something is worth more than $5 million it is more than $1 million. When I was studying Physics in College I had the feeling the Liberal Arts guys weren't very good in Math and Science, but journalists these days would fail remedial math.

When I listen to my iPod I get the munchies. I hope Bono gave him a bag of pretzels too.
