Parallels Desktop for Mac release candidate
Do the people at Parallels ever sleep? It seems like only yesterday I had never heard of them and now they are THE VMWare solution for the Intel Macs, and their product isn't even out yet!Well, that is all about to change (at least the bit about the product not being out). Parallels today announced the availability of the release candidate for the newly rechristened Parallels Desktop for Mac (they thought workstation was too Windowsy).
What's new in this release you ask? Here are some highlights:
- A new look and feel
- Better sound support
- Faster
- An uninstaller
Thanks, Cooly.

The cube feature was added to parallels around beta 5 or 6. so it's part of the program now. works great on my MBP, run both OS X and XP in total fullscreen.

I am going to be getting an intel machine at some point and would like to be able to switch between systems like that.

I installed it and now I am having problems while switching using Virtue Desktops, Parallels is now crashing everytime I switch desktop while using full screen mode.
Anyone is experiencing the same issue?
VMWare, like Kleenex, is a brand. Does it support converting of VMs between Virtual PC actual HD w/ Windows VMWare Parallels?

May 18 2006 at 9:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnyone know if one can use the isight camera in windows apps with the Virtualization software. I know you can't in bootcamp but can you this way? Would be nice to try msn messenger or skype for windows with video
May 18 2006 at 9:04 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyTo anyone confused as hell afer installing this, the right click has been moved from ctrl-click to ctrl-shift-click. A lil annoying but, according to the parallels forums, apparently some windows apps need a dedicated ctrl-click.
Awesome app, just gets better and better!
