Microsoft releases Mac specific wireless laser desktop

That's right folks, our good friends in Redmond have produced their first keyboard ever without a Windows key. Instead you'll find command, control, and option buttons on this new wireless set from Microsoft made specifically for the Mac. It also features hot keys that are programed to open iTunes and iPhoto (amongst other programs). The mouse features a zoom slider and 4 way scrolling.
The Wireless Laser Desktop for Mac will be available this summer for $99.99.

I wish they'd put out a bluetooth mouse like that, I'd buy one in a flash for my iMac. I still haven't been able to find a good Apple-styled bluetooth one.

Is Microsoft trying to get on our good-side?

I reaaly want someone to develop a mouse that instead of a scrolling wheel/ball has a littlr trackpad...to be able to trackpad with my index finger on my mouse - now that I would buy in an instant...
but maybe that's just me

Why is that keyboard bloated with additional keys? Why can't Microsoft stop the bloat and take the simple, easy way?

huh?
Bluetooth is a way for it to communicate with the computer, laser is how it tracks....a step up from optical
the 2 aren't even related.....not to mention laser mice are still pretty new, bluetooth has been around for many years now

It is a little strange how they still make you plug in that dumb little RF USB receiver. Haven't they realized Mac users are accustomed to Bluetooth by now?

A friend of mine has this Logitech mouse (on a PC), he is pretty happy with it:

Pains me to say it but that mouse likely beats the heck out of a mighty mouse.
One of the few things Microsoft is good at is making an ergonomic mouse. And unlike the great keyboard Apple puts out, their mice don’t cut it.
I have a wireless intellimouse for almost 2 years now on my office PC, very similar to the one shown. The intellimouse is vastly superior in almost every way to the mighty mouse, except for looks and style.
On the Microsoft mouse a gentle squeeze of the side buttons activates the functions, the mighty mouse requires an awkward grip & squeeze. The center scroll wheel is fluid and takes just a slight nudge from the finger. On the mighty mouse you have to flick the mini ball way more times to get a comparable scroll effect. I know the mighty mouse has diagonal scrolling, but I almost never use it. Most of all the curved arc of the MS mouse fits the hand far better than the flat shape of the mighty mouse. The mighty mouse hurts my hand, and the right click function is tricky and beyond awkward. I'd skip the keyboard but if they made the MS mouse in matching white, I’d buy it.

I rather buy Apple's wireless mouse + keyboard than an over-sized Microsoft wireless desktop. The difference is only 20 box..

Yeah that's a very bloated looking thing fits more with a Dell than a Mac.
Logitech makes a cordless desktop that is already available and it fits a bit more with a Mac IMO.

Bad keyboard layout. Who uses those giant delete keys?

The thing that i dont like about that Logictech cordless desktop is that it takes up an usb port. I dunno about you, but i still prefer Apple's bluetooth keyboard + mouse xD

seems kind of ironic to me that they boast of their ergonomic keyboard and then make a right-hand only mouse.
