RapidWeaver 3.5
RapidWeaver 3.5, the theme based website creator, has just been released by Realmac Software. This release is a Universal Binary, and includes new themes, CSS based photo galleries, 'feature rich blogging,' and SFTP support. The price has gone up slightly from $34.95 to $39.95
Thanks to all who sent this in.
Correction: I incorrectly said that you can edit HTML in RapidWeaver's new code view. Sadly, you can only view the code (and check for validation errors). Thanks to Tom for pointing this out.

There is no editing. Just viewing.

I do not believe the developers ever intended for direct editing of the HTML code. That would go against the whole concept of the application, plus it would be impossible to remove such a feature if it was never included in the first place.

Actually, my name is Ron, not Tim. And from my point of view, this isn't a sad bit of news, at least not when you understand the way RapidWeaver works.

To clear this up, you cannot edit code created by rapidweaver, but you can add code of your own in the code view.
Thats seems pretty dumb to me, but it's still miles ahead of programs like sandvox or iweb as far as I'm concerned.

Ron, Tim sent an email directly to me pointing out the error (before I had a chance to look at comments), so he gets the thanks.
I think it is always sad when I can't get at the code directly, but I am probably not the RapidWeaver target market. ;)

sheep, in sandvox you can add html sections with the pro version (which allows for very good flexibility)

Ohhh, you are referring to Tom Beardmore. I think you need to make a correction to your correction because you are still not crediting the write person.

Damn vowels! I corrected it, thanks ron.

Michael May,
It's not that you cannot enter HTML (hell, the new HTML page allows you an absolutely blank page should you require it!), it more that you cannot modify the ouput within the app - something Sandvox can't do.
Both Sandvox Pro and Rapidweaver have an almost identical feature set. Too bad Sandvox is almost twice the price I guess ;)

One thing I forgot to mention is that you can also enter HTML pretty much anywhere within RapidWeaver :)

You can even blog in HTML if you want. Sometimes it's cool to just throw in a few tags to get an unordered list, right in the middle of a bunch of Rich Text.

The new themes suck balls. Rapidweaver's failed attempt to be more like iWeb

I tried RapidWeaver. I liked it for what it was, but it's not for me. There is still no HTML/CSS editor for those who know coding but just need a leg up from the monotony short of the bloated Dreamweaver... at least that I know of. I'm still using Taco HTML because of its snippets feature.
