View your iPod's video on a 7" screen
Here's a nifty device. The i1055 Video System by iLuv (doesn't the name just roll off your tongue?) has a dock that fits either the 30GB or 60GB iPod and a 7" widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) active-matrix LCD for playing your 'Pod's content. Just plug your iPod in and go. The i1055 also features S video out, slow motion and fast forward, plus DVD, VCD, audio CD and MP3 CD functionality. The iPod is charged as long as it's docked (when the i1055 is plugged in) and the device itself runs on a built-in Ni-MH rechargeable battery for video on the go.It comes in both black and white and will run you $249.95US.

I actually think this is a great idea. The idea of having a larger screen for all this stuff on my iPod, when portability is not important, is very appealing. I actually have something similar rigged up with a little 7" inch LCD TV for watching movies off my iPod when we travel. I had sketched something up like this with a little dock on the back of my TV...but of course I lack motivation and skills to bring something like this to life. I will pick one of these up for sure.

This device looks very cool. I don't know why I haven't seen any feedback on it but it sure caught my eye when I saw it in a mac magazine ad. Has anyone had any hands on with this?

I think this is great. My son likes to watch SpongeBob on long car trips and this would make it much easier for him.

Re: Brian P.
Wow. Can you imagine how well that would sell? You can use an iPod as the battery and storage device of a PDA, integrate its content (Music, photos, videos, calendars, notes, etc.) but make it recognize handwriting, translating that into text notes. Throw in some wireless capabilities, home folder syncing and you've essentially made your iPod your digital hub. (And here we thought it was the Mac...)
Want your iPod just for music? Pop it out and take it for a jog.
You don't need the PDA, but your friend/wife/co-worker does? Take your iPod, they put their iPod in, and voila - it's their PDA now.
Anyone have a couple mil in VC laying around?

I've been thinking about something like this for a while. Its a little pricey though. If they could knock another $100 off, it would be a hit. My kids have a portable DVD player for the minivan with dual screens. I'm sick of putting DVD's in the thing. We're taking a trip to Florida this December and I'm ready to get an iPod and connect it directly to the DVD player and play movies off the iPod instead.
But I like the idea of a dock. I hadn't thought of that myself. Good move. Only one adapter needed to connect this way.

I went to the I luv site 2 days ago, not a mention of this, but did see it in the magazine, the biggest problem that APPLE is facing now is that we all know what is possible for them to do, and everything but the IPOD video has been lamo, IF this was a PDA, and memory sitck it could be the Accessory killer, but it is not, so thier fore its sad to say on the LAMO list.
Someone should start a Petition to APPLE stating that we will not tolerate a Trickle technology effect, give us what is possible today, and it will sell billions. otherwise I feel they are spinning thier wheels , I know I am talking about apple but I mean in general anyone else agree with this.
