Google Maps Plugin 2.5 for Address Book goes Universal Binary, gets Google Earth integration
The Google Maps Plugin for Address Book has updated to version 2.5, adding Universal Binary super-powers and a slick new feature: Google Earth support (which is handy, since Google Earth just went Universal, too). Also in this new version is a true-blue Apple installer package (no more digging around in Library folders), support for Europe and new localized Google Maps domains, and user can now choose their preferred default country in the Google Maps Preferences. This plugin is available from Brian Toth's site, and surprisingly is still donationware. Toss the guy at least a few bucks if you find his hard work useful, couldya?

Great!!
The google earth feature is very cool but the directions feature is the real plus.
If only Apple/developer would allow you to change the default mapper in the widget. I would use this everytime rather than Mapquest...

Installed it and, probably because I had the old version installed as well, I now have double of the same options under the right-click menu. Does anyone remember which files were put where in the old install? I figure if I can go back in and delete them, and then reinstall the new version if I have to, I'll be alright. Otherwise, great products.

Alex, the installer tells you the location of the files.
Try to reinstall and look for this info as you go through the installer prompts.

Cool, I have been waiting for this to go universal. This will be a good side note to add on the tip I just did on my site for mapping your contacts in Address book. Now, people can use google maps or mapquest.
