Google Calendar officially supports Safari
Users are reporting that Google Calendar now officially supports Safari. I can confirm, as I no longer receive the 'unsupported browser' warning on 10.4.6, and I must say gCal looks a bit nicer in Safari, though I unfortunately need to use Firefox for most of my browsing needs. It's nice to see Google going the extra mile to support Apple's browser with some of their products. Anyone want to place bets as to how soon a Safari-compatible chat will show up in Gmail?

I hope not, I hate how gmail is in Firefox. I don't want more stuff to distract me. Plus who keeps gmail open all the time to chat??

"going the extra mile to support Apple's browser with some of their products."
Give credit where it's due... it's a lot less than a mile. :-) Unless you go out of your way to be IE-specific (which Google obvously don't), Safari support is not that hard!

The Google Calendar overview page (http://www.google.com/googlecalendar/overview.html) now lists Safari 2.0.3 as "fully supported broswer".

"Safari support is not that hard!"
Actually, DOM support in Safari is still kind of lacking, so the fact that Google has made an effort to support Safari is definitely "going the extra mile".

#3 - You can disable chat in Firefox if you don't like it. Just click 'standard without chat' at the bottom of the page.

I mis-read that as Google Spreadsheets and went to try it out.
No dice unfortunately.

Yay, this is good news! I was tired of how ugly it looked in Camino.

It's still read-only when you (using iCal) subscribe to private Google iCal calendars.
And the calendars aren't private... there are no passwords when it comes to using iCal.
