iStat nano updated with support for Intel Mac CPU temp

iStat nano, a handy system monitoring Dashboard widget, has been updated to version 1.51b with support for CPU temps on Intel Macs. The one catch is that you'll have to install SpeedIt, a System Preference pane and kernel extension that allows this kind of functionality (and much more). We've heard nothing but good things about SpeedIt and the features it provides (such as controlling CPU whine by regulating voltage), but we'd understand if the thought of installing kernel extensions has already made you skip this post in your newsreader.
If you're still reading this, however, it seems both iStat nano and the SpeedIt kernel extension are provided free, so have at it.
[thanks Aaron]

Yeah, I don't really understand this. If all you can do is whinge about how old a particular news item is when it gets posted, then SHUT UP. Nobody wants to hear some snotty jerk say it's old news. *I* have never HEARD of either SpeedIt or iStat nano. So nevermind the fact the news is old to you: it's new to ME. It'll always be news to SOMEone.
Here's a little guide that might help you. Before you click, "Add Your Comments" stop. Re-read your post. Does it actually address the post? Does it respond to another, earlier comment? Does it add anything at all to the conversation? Or are you just nitpicking?
I cannot count the times I've typed up a huge comment only to delete it after I realised it wasn't relevant. So for everyone who seems to get off on smugly telling us how old news items are, please just shut up and sod off. If you want fresh(er), (semi-)current news, why not try Digg?

The release date is wrong, the newest version (1.51) of iStat Nano was only just released.

Derek, sorry, the date on our site is wrong (will be fixed soon). iStat nano 1.51 was release a few days ago with some bug fixes.
#3 :: I hope you like the widget.
Thanks, Marc.

SpeedIt comes bundled with another app called Core Duo Temp, if you're using that already.

um.. mr. "sir not appearing in this blog"
what are you going on about? your own comment has no relevancy to this post so why have you submitted it? funny since your comment talks about this very issue and how no one should do this, yet here you are...

Gee, I wish you good folks had left the first comment in place so it wouldn't sound like I'm just ranting for no real reason. Oh well.

Am I missing something or is there no link to the iStat Nano page? (I'm sure I could find it elsewhere, but it seems strange to not be linked here, while the required software is linked twice.)

This is performing terribly for me. Whenever I open dashboard, my system hangs for a couple minutes and the fan speeds up on my MacBook. I'm running SpeedIt 0.5. Anyone else having this problem?
