Using iTunes 6 to display your iPod serial number

Don Mayer, proprietor of Small Dog Electronics, has posted to Small Dog's blog (Barkings!) a very cool tip. He gives you a step by step guide on how to find your iPod's serial number in iTunes 6. Neato.

D'oh - I could have used that when I've been needing to read off my serial number from that tiny text recently.

Not sure why this is news, or why you would use iTunes to find something that is available on your iPod. All you have to do is go "settings", "about" on your iPod and that information is there, as well as Version #, Model #.
Next you will be telling us there are games on the iPod.

...unless you brushed the back of your iPod to get rid of that ugly mirrored finish like I did. but as mentioned, you can still see it through the ipod's menu system

This is actually useful, as silly as it seems. First of all, the number on the shiny back of my iPod is unreadable. And if for any reason your iPod freezes up and you need the number for tech support, it's good to have an alternative.
