Now here is one of the more interesting and functional 5G iPod cases I've seen in a while: a clear plastic case with a belt clip that doubles as a kick stand. This iSkin Claro easily shows up my clear agent18 case, but the $39 sticker price is a tad steep. If a plain clear case doesn't get your credit card numbers flowing, iSkin also provides Claro slims, 3-packs of colored skins for $20 USD that can spice up any oh-so-yesterday black or white 5G iPod. Oh, and don't forget to spend an extra $20 to succumb to your accessorizing obsession with iSkin CERULEAN XLR Bass Enhancing Stereo Earphones, with eight color choices to make sure you get as far away from Apple's trademark white as possible.
The iSkin Claro is available at present only for 30 GB 5G iPods and can be had at iSkin's site.

I think I'll procrastinate a bit before committing money to this one.

Humph. The iSkin eVo 2 case I have for my U2 iPod...the belt clip broke off afer about 5 months. I took exquisite care of it, too...just was pretty flimsy. I'd be careful with using an iSkin belt clip as a stand.
Just got my 5G iPod today. Got the film over the top & back, and a Contour showcase. Looks great, and has a belt clip.

#1: MfS, if you're accepting people's $0.02: if you're at all concerned about your new iPod's exterior, keep that film on it. I haven't noticed any screen discoloration/interference, and I have that agent18 plastic case on it for extra protection.
It's too bad to hear about that belt clip though; you're making me rethink purchasing a Claro. Are you sure you aren't just some hard-core snowboarder/skateboarder who busted it while trying to pull off a 720-degree backflip off an 18-wheeler or something? ;)

It's too bad Matias never released a 5G-sized iPod Armor. That thing was probably the best purchase I made for my 4G iPod.

This is a very beautiful case! Anyone knows if the belt clip is removable?

To #2/David:
Actually, I work in an iPod-friendly office environment where I pretty much attach my iPod to my belt clip (Dork Alert!), and it stays there basically all day. (Hey, I have to wear business-casual, which means khakis/belts/nice shirts!).
Honestly, I take very good care of my equipment. Who knows, though...maybe iSkin has improved the quality of the belt clip/stand this time around. I'm pretty happy with my eVo 2, and jerry-rigged a cell phone belt clip to the plastic backing of the eVo 2 which actually works better...has this magnetic clip that allowed me to flip the iPod up & see the screen without having to undo the belt clip at all.
Anyway, I'd be curious to know if iSkin improved the belt clip. Just seemed flimsy to me.

I have a shrinkwrap machine at work, so I shrinkwrap my iPod and it stays new and is perfectly useable. I then keep it in a leather case with a kickstand.

Hard Plastic is going to scratch regarless of what the creators say. You don't have to look any further than iPod. My solution is TPU which is ultra clear but most important of all is soft which means it absorbs scratches. I sell it for $10 because it is home grown in my own factory in China. You can find it at www.XSKN.com.
