Jobs to preview Leopard during WWDC
WWDC (that's World Wide Developers' Conference) is coming up this August and the Mac web is all atwitter. Apple, in a move that should surprise no one, has announced that a team of execs, headed up by Jobs, will demo Leopard during the WWDC keynote on August 7th.This has become a feature of the WWDC but it is nice to have official confirmation. Until then let the rumors swirl about what tasty morsels will be included in Leopard. I'm hoping that Apple will do away with that pesky Dock and give us a Task Bar, like God intended all OSes to have.

I have been putting off buying my new macbook pro until the last possible second, is that smart? Classes don't start till the 30th so is it smart to wait just in case they whip out some new ipod and better macbook pro? I NEED OPINIONS ha

I'm also in the market for a Mac Pro to replace my Dual 2.5 G5 (2004 model) and a new Cinema Display to replace my current 23"
yeah, nice dock joke, but you're still fat.
(Hey, is it just me or do mac folks have no sense of humor? This guy is one of the best out there in terms of mac news, but one small joke and you guys are nuts. Yeah, he's fat, I'm fat too, and who cares? It's a joke.)
I like the dock. The problem is how it deals with reduced application windows or documents. Both are in the same location and the reduced windows can't be closed via a right-click and are fairly limited. There's a lot they could do with the dock to improve it.
My hopes:
1. put system preferences shortcut bar back. Using spotlight in system preferences is kind of stupid.
2. I hope, hope, hope that all the rumors of a rewritten Finder and Spotlight UI are true.
3. A more powerful PIM using Address Book, Calendar and Mail. There are a few third party apps but nothing really that great. Add it to iLife if you must. But this is a glaring hole in OSX.
4. Fix Javascript in Safari. Most of the problems with Safari that I can see relate to Javascript.
5. Not necessarily for 10.5, but some more direction about resolution independence along with something better than VNC for remote control would be very, very nice.
6. Fix key caps / international menu. (Yeah, I don't expect it either)
Other than that I'm intrigued as there isn't a lot more I really need for OSX. I'd love a few lower level things. i.e. certain Python libraries like the Applescript stuff made standard. But those aren't major. I thought that the last upgrade was kind of lacking overall. A UI rushed out for Spotlight; a gee whiz unnecessary bit of a program, Dashboard, largely to justify the upgrade (although I liked it); some inexplicable UI changes in Mail but no where else. Contrast 10.4 with 10.3 in terms of what users see. Yeah there was a lot behind in the background. But not where most users saw it.
Man, you guys (posters 1-9). This site should be fun. It is not intended to read like a phone book full of facts. Did you have a window seat in English class when sarcasm, irony, humor, etc. was discussed?
Well what ever. Run, Scott, run ;-)
I'd like to have multiple Docks, so you could have applications on one, Documents and folders on another, and minimized windows on a third, each on a different side of the screen.
I'm hoping that last part was sarcasm

I am speaking of it as an option that could be turned on or off with a simple visit to the system preferences. Plus, I am not speaking of removing features or anything like that.
@the title of this posting: Duh.
