Adobe Releases Flash Player 9 (PPC)
Adobe released Flash Player version 9 today but it's only for PPC Macs. There's no version for Intel Macs yet. Anyone with an Intel Mac who wants native Flash components should use the preview version of version 8.x available here. You might want to take a look at the emerging issues being identified with Flash Player 9 before installing on your system(s).

The only thing they seriously need to change about Flash is that it slows to a crawl in the background. I hate that.

...and btw, it's a pain in the butt to find old versions of Flash: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14266
Those archives have both Mac and PC versions of the players; thought it might help someone else down the road.
When it comes to flash I wait until the content I watch tells me it wont work unless I upgrade

June 28 2006 at 2:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI have to say I'm impressed by Adobe's quick integration and support for Flash under Intel and their page that shows what version you are running as well as the details that show the differences between Flash running under Rosetta or Intel native mode.
I'm staying at 8.0.27 for now and saving the upgrade to 9.0 when it goes univeral.
I installed this last night, and now Safari/Camino/Flock can't show any flash. They keep asking me to get the latest plugin.
The installer from Adobe messes things up I guess.
Does Adobe have something against Intel Macs?
