Time names Nike + iPod Sports kit 'Gadget of the Week'

That's right, Apple loving Time has named the Nike + iPod Sports Kit their 'Gadget of the Week.' Calling it the 'most elegant of high-tech runner's aids' Time sings the praises of the system, though it does note that while the $29 cost seems cheap you do need an iPod nano plus the special Nike shoes (which we know isn't true).
The Nike + iPod Sports Kit has been out for a little while now, what do folks think about it?

Wish it would work with a regular iPod, just seems unfair that those of us with the regular iPods are left out :(
Then again it could be a good excuse to pick up a used Nano ;)
That should be Apple-loving Time (as opposed to Apple that loves Time). Hyphenate your compound adjectives.

I had a full charge before I went running about three days ago, and just under 3 sessions of 2+ miles each (or 6 miles total) I have an almost dead iPod. Just like the wifi gadgets w/ bluetooth phones.. it drains down the battery of anything it's installed on ....

I mean I haven't held one but to me it looks more like a flat rock that would skip well across a lake. Besides I think I could run with a "pebble" in my shoe with only minor iritation but this thing needs its own slot to lay in.
