Ahh, thank goodness for the FCC. You see, one must get approval from the FCC before releasing anything with wireless technology in it, such as... oh let's say a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. Pictured above you see a prototype for a cordless, Bluetooth Might Mouse from everyone's favorite Cupertino computer company.
The manual makes note that the M6 (that's its super secret code name) ships with 2 non-rechargeable AA batteries. Other than that there aren't any new features to write home about.

The mighty mouse is perhaps one of the worse mice I have ever used in all my years computing. It's junk, I didn't think they'd waste their time making a BT version. I wonder if the side buttons are still impossible to press?
At least it won't have a 1 foot long cord though :-)

Ahem, how does putting everything online add up to "confidential treatment" as requested by Apple?
They'll probably cancel the whole project now that it got leaked. :)

A nice thought - the FCC could lift the lid on a bluetooth iPod?

Yeah, but the batteries will suck. I have to replace my BT mouse's batteries REALLY often.

I've been intentionally holding off buying a wireless keyboard & mouse until this little baby comes out. Seems like I've been waiting forever!
However, I'd be very interested in hearing more on my Marc doesn't like the mighty mouse? Anyone else not like it?

I'm a big Apple fan but I hate how they treat their upcoming products like they're protecting some amazing secret cold fusion recipe. Bluetooth mice are hardly news and they've even become commodified. I'm sure Apple will expect $100 for this, and I'm sure the geeks will celebrate it with reverance. I hope they surprise me.
PS, Apple, the bluetooth on your intel Mac Mini sucks!

The Mighty Mouse isn't a very good mouse. Hopefully Apple improved the whole design and while adding bluetooth.

I agree with spruiker 2 (Mark), it's a crappy mouse. The right click drives me nuts and forces me to use my mousing hand in an unnatural manner, making my wrist hurt and disapproving consternation from my physiotherapist.
Don't get me started on how difficult it is to click and drag when you run out of deskspace and have to lift the mouse.

If you look at the user manual for the mouse, you will see that it's a 'lazer' mouse! :-)
And that the lazer uses a spectrum that the human eye can't see!
- No more red glow.

I'm on my second mighty mouse and I am not impressed. The scroll-ball works only when it feels like it and typically only down. I wouldn't be pressed to buy another.
Additionally, how long does it take a big company like Apple to make a new bluetooth mouse when the competition is capable of doing several a year? A wireless mighty mouse should have been there from the start, failing that a few months after.

They need to take that no touch technology patent they have for the iPod and do something about the scroll ball that sticks every two weeks, and the contortionist death grip to activate the side buttons, and the maybe it will work right this time maybe it won’t lottery right click spot.
Other than that, a Bluetooth version should be awesome.
