WWDC 2006 banner

Our good friends at Engadget came across this picture of a 2006 WWDC banner in Moscone Center (that' where WWDC takes place in sunny SF). So, what does this banner tell us? Well, that thing that looks like a G5 tower probably contains an Intel chip (I assume) which might be 64 bit (hence the 64 bit logo). We can also see the subtle leopard print on the OS X disc, which isn't as obnoxious as I thought it might me.
Check out the Engadget post for more pictures and share your thoughts in the comments.

On the left side of the banner, to the right of the Universal App icon and below the Automator icon... what is that? It seems to be a disc with four Weebles on it. Does anyone recognize it?

All I want to know is how soon they'll stick the Core 2 Duo in the MBP, I haven't heard much mention of it here but really hope it is announced when it will happen next week.

The "disc with four Weebles on it" is Xgrid. :)

The 'four weebles' app is not Apple iBalls as one engadget commenter posted, but the icon for xgrid.

Guess we are sunny right now, not too much fog in August. Should be an interesting week next year. Too bad I'm not a developer or I could probably swing my company to pay for me to go.
Silly unix admin I am.

If I were Apple, I'd have a big fake banner covering the REAL banner. Then you can let all the Moscone employees snap and post all they want. :-)

That's either Core Video or Core Image.

Look closely at the screen of the white nano. It looks like it has a darker bar on the top (brushed metal?), and then what could be an album cover. Album cover browsing, anyone?

That Quartz icon made me think of Quartz 2D Extreme. Would be nice if it finally was ready.
