MacMice announces The Mouse BT II

MacMice has announced their own re-entry into the bluetooth mouse market as of late with The Mouse BT II, a follow-up to their original mouse which includes a MicroScroll™ scroll wheel and a rechargeable battery system. This new mouse also boasts an 800 dpi accuracy (I have no idea how Apple's mouse stacks up to that), and the recharging system - their #1 request from customers, apparently - includes a USB dock (pictured here) and two AAA NiMH. The scroll wheel uses a notchless design, and the mouse is using Bluetooth v1.2 (again, strangely, I don't think Apple has announced what their new mouse is using). Also of note is The Mouse BT II's design, which is similar to Apple's but features two (and only two) separate mouse buttons.

The Mouse BT II can be ordered (U.S. customers only) now for $69.99, and will begin shipping August 9th.

I bought the MacMice SightFlex (a flexible stand for your iSight). It's the worst thing I've ever bought. Never functioned properly. The only thing it has to do is actually hold up the iSight, but it was incapable of doing that for more than a few seconds at a time. Avoid this company at all costs!

Why not just buy a better performing Mighty Mouse wireless instead?

Strangly, my MM tracked slowly when I first got it, but now it's really smooth. It's getting better the more I use it.

I just bought a Logitech v270 for my iBook G4 and it works just great. Had to go online for it though since no one is stocking it in stores these days.

Didn't even have to install the Logitech software (which I've never cared for).

Mac sites should really never publish a product announcement for MacMice, DVForge, MacTable, whatever Jack Campbell is calling his company these days. They're known sheisters, who either produce incredibly cheap and shitty prodcuts they massively overcharge for, or just take peoeples money for products they never intend to ship at all. Google MacTable to find out more about Jack Campbell and the kind of bullshit he's known for. You will never see a story about any of Jack Campbell's companies on MacSlash. Ever.

Anyone interested in MacMice should Google the company (DVForge, MacMice).

It's a long story.

I would ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND this brand until the company that is now producing them (the original company went out of business and it's assets were sold...thus voiding the warranty on our 18 mice) proves that they are in it for the long haul. The concept is nice but where are they going to be in 6 months?

I suppose the choice comes down to whether you're an ass man or a breast man (or woman) as far as the visual stylings of your mouse goes.

Looks like Chris and I are in agreement on this one.
