Razer introduces feature-packed keyboard with iPod dock

Is that plain-jane Apple Keyboard starting to feel a little lax in the feature department? Do you find yourself wanting for, say, 10 programmable hotkeys and dedicated iTunes control keys? How does a built-in iPod dock sound, with an audio line out port for the ultimate in keyboard luxury and integration?
If your keyboard juices are 'a flowin, check out the new Pro|Type™ Multimedia Keyboard from Razer Pro|Solutions, a decked-out keyboard with all the fixins, except a cup holder. No pricing or availability has been announced, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear when you'll have yet another option for keeping your iPod front and center in your life.

Hilarious! It has a gold plated USB connector for "maximum conductivity". LOL

Gold plated or not, I kind of like the idea of being able to dock an iPod in the keyboard. One less wire to mess with. Hopefully it is USB2

Back in May, I e-mailed the Razer|Pro folks. One of them said this:
"The PRO|TYPE will be available in September. Right now, I am not sure exactly which retailer will carry it but it will available at major retailers. I will have
more information as we get closer to the launch date."
I think I should bug them again to get more info, now that it's getting later in August.

No matter how clean my hands are, white keyboards turn ugly. Where's the black version?

I wonder how it compares to Tactile Pro?

Just a happy customer.

DrWho: "One less wire to mess with"?
I reckon that those who like to have as few wires as possible already own a wireless keyboard.
So for those people, it's one EXTRA wire 99% of the time (assuming your ipod is connected 1% of the time).
I'd prefer a wifi-equipped ipod instead...

So I guess the company that designed this is from the Isle of Man?

Make it ergonomic (like the MS Natural Elite) and black and you've got a sale. Probably a bunch, since I think the whole office'd go for it then.

They were showing this at Macworld, and I wondered if it was more fantasy than reality... It ain't done 'till it's shipped tho!
