tub Speaker system
When I first heard about the tub MP3 Speaker system I was hoping that it would, somehow, be a speaker that would float in your tub and pump out some sweet tunes (am I the only one that like to bath whilst rocking our to a little John Tesh?). Sadly, or rather much more realistically, it is just a tub looking speaker with three rubberized feet for stability.Brookstone claims that the design is 'just plain fun,' and while I'm not sure I agree at $50 the price isn't too bad. Plus, it'll work with any MP3 player, though why would you want to use anything other than an iPod?

The problem with a lot of these iPod accessories is that 50% (just a figure, don't nail me on that) is junk that either doesn't work properly (certainly on the speaker department) or breaks after way too soon. I think choice is a good thing, but quality is better. I've seen it a lot of times. We had like 10 of these small speaker systems, but when half of them are crap, people can only choose between 5 really and than it just turns confusing. There are a lot of things out there that shouldn't be just because they are a waste of time and material. I'm hoping this tub isn't one of them.
I have seen the similar situation, however, not as severe. The apple store downtown and in the Woodfield mall has an excellent variety of ipod "junk", computers, and accessories. I think everyone needs this "junk" because it is fun! I agree with #3, if consumers do not have options, they will go somewhere else, God forbid! ;)

You don't have to buy them all, you know. But, having *choices*, so that we can each find the one best for our own situation...well, that's a good thing.
Why would you want to limit people's choices? If they want limited choices, they could buy a Zen. ;)
NO MORE iPOD Speakers please!!!!! GAAAA!!!!!>>>$$$ seriously...how many can there be?

Unfortunately, I've had to ban my iPod from the bathroom due to previous mishaps... What I'd really like is a Bluetooth touchscreen iPod in a sealed case that water can't get into.
