mimiFoto

mimiFoto is simple, yet brilliant. Do you tire of the stock iPhoto icon with that silly default picture? miniFoto lets you customize iPhoto's icon with any photo you like. And when you're sick of the TUAW logo peeking up from the Dock you simply 'Get Info' on iPhoto and cut the icon, which reveals the default icon that never went away.

Neato! Now, keep in mind this is a .1 release, so things might go a little wonky.

Thanks, Mark.

I tried it on my secondary Standard account and nothing happened. No notification. But it had already worked on my primary Admin account, so I switched my secondary account to Admin and... Bingo! That was on my iMac G5, so Intel shouldn't be an issue. It also worked fine on my G3 iBook.

Okay, I think I've tried every combination of open/closed iphoto, command/option/control clicking and can't get it to work on the G5. Any one else figure it out?

It worked on my G5 dual 2.0 PowerMac. No Intel needed. However, it did take 3 or four tries of combined clicking and command-clicking the dock icon and opening and closing iPhoto. Now the icon in the dock has my personal icon. Took less than a minute. Very cool little tweak.

All right, iPhoto has to be running for it to work. Just tried it. Instructions should mention that, or fix it so it works without iPhoto running.

"Just downloaded it on my G4 Powerbook and it works great. You do have to quit iPhoto and command-click on where the iPhoto icon in the dock then your picture will show up."

When I tried iPhoto wasn't open, tried the command-click. Did it a few times, with different pictures, no luck.

Tried it on my G4 at work and it doesn't work.
More evidence that it only works on Intels.

On a G5 here, so I guess it's only working for the MacIntels.
