Found Footage: Tab features in Safari 3
We've seen video previews of some of Safari 3's features (the upcoming Leopard version) before; thought that particular video is no longer available - three guesses as to why. Here's another one you should probably check out before Apple's legal team starts firing off C&Ds: it's a demonstration of Safari 3's ability to drag and drop tabs throughout the bookmarks bar (finally!), as well as dropping them into their own new window entirely. While other browser have jumped the gun on these features, and you can have them in Safari with the help of Saft and SafariStand, it's nice to see these features being built in by default for all users to appreciate - though we bet Hao Li, Saft's developer, might not share the joy in losing one of Saft's key selling points.

Nice, but hardly innovative. More of an evolution than a revolution, as is Apple's way.

I second the getting rid of the buzzing notion, its really annoying and messes up my calm vibes... 1) No I wont use a different browser safari till i die and i want to keep itthat was because its #1 in my book 2) I tried SAFT and stuff but it wouldnt work properly and im 99% sure that it wasnt my fault. Although that buzzing certainly makes me want to go back and give it another shot.

Finally! I've been requesting that feature since they implemented tabs in the first place. Now we just need a better way for Expose and the Window menu to handle tabbed windows. I'm thinking sub-menus for the Window menu. Not sure what to do about Expose.
Also, regarding Expose, I'd really like an option to always show the title of the windows (i.e. not just when mousing over them). Dealing with lots of text windows can be rather confusing as it is.

Simon (6): not by the looks of things, no. If you look closely, you'll notice that it's darker on the left and right sides, but lighter in the middle. So good (bad?) ole' textured brushed metal still exists. Unfortunately.

I bought Saft for the ad blocking, which it does well. Everything else is icing on the cake. The cool tab features are the sugar in that icing. But I tried 3 times to make Saft work on a new MacBook and it kept complaining that my Safari version was too new (it was not). Not for Intel yet?

@ kg
Why buy an ad blocking feature for Safari, when Camino comes with one free out of the box? It works great and few things beat free.

Because Camino sucks?

@ Christopher Williams
Because I used Camino years ago and had to stop when it fell way behind and started to display sites with heavy JS completely wrong, and I like my browser to be up to date. Because, even though I have Firefox installed, with AdBlock, and use it in DHTML emergencies, I still like (free) Safari even more at the moment because it's less clunky. Because, I've never had Safari crash on me "for seemingly no reason at all" as you assert in your blog where you try PithHelmet and not Saft. And lastly, because I know how to evaluate my own choices, thanks.

How do you change Safari's icon ? It seems that simply copying and pasting an icon in the Get Info window wouldn't work.
