New Chax beta with tear-off tabs, will be open sourced soon
The author is also going to release the complete Chax source code once 1.4.6 goes official, offering iChat hackers and other Cocoa-hopefuls a little more help in their quest for creating the next killer __________.

It's not just tabs. It's a whole fleet of other changes to iChat too. Like the extremely annoying 'Do you want to accept this message' before every new IM. Probably my favorite feature after the tabs. Plus lot's more stuff that makes using iChat much easier.
But I too wonder about the fate of Chax in Leopard....
"It would be too not-Apple to not implement something into Leopard that people have to use a hack to get."
By that line of reasoning Unsanity would be out of business.
Great app. Installed and using already. Tons of options.... it's great.
