Just installed it. Sound and video was great. I've never used iChat before so I can't compare. I'm sure the Windows version of Skype has much more features tht the Mac version, for example, it would be great if I could leave an offline voice message, SMS, desppite all that this is a step in the right direction.

Yay for Skype :)

My video stalls after about a second. It may pick up again for a few seconds, but then I'm stuck with a frozen image.
I'm not using an iSight, but this has not been a problem for iMovie, iChat, ...

The 1.5 beta did this too and was also universal.

Just fyi, the older skype 1.5beta did support video on the mac. I'll give this 2.0 beta a try, but if they haven't improved the video/audio quality from 1.5, then I'm still sticking with iChat. iChat especially blows me away when both ends of the video chat are on a high speed internet connection, as you can get full 640x480 resolution. I hope skype can do this too, but I'm doubting it...

Is it universal? I'd look it up myself but my company blocks skype.com
