Confirmed: Apple to hold special event on Sept. 25th

It looks like the special event that was rumored to be happening on September 25th, the day before photokina in Germany starts, is a reality. Our friends at Macworld just got an invitation featuring a big old camera lens, which is reminiscant of Aperture's icon. Seems pretty natural that Apple would do an Aperture announcement at one of the largest photography trade shows in existence.

This HAS to be an Aperture update. It's now the 25th and I'm (not so) patiently waiting to see what it's all about. Anyone know what time the special event is?

OK let's just stop and put 2 and two together here. Apple has got iPhoto and Aperture covering the amature and professional side of the software. An update to either would be great but nothing stellar enough to announce a special press-event.

What's still missing in the Apple lineup,..... a camera. They ventured in this arena earlier with the QuickTake but that was way to early, cumbersome, low quality and relatively expensive. Now they've got all bases covered, storage and display hard- and software. All you need now is a camera, be it an iPod accessory or even the real deal.

Or could it be a new printer line-up ;)

Apple continues to fire on all cylinders. I love it!

I switched over the iBook in early 2005, back when the iBooks and OS X started to get really good, and I'm starting to think, now, it's the smartest decision I've ever made (as far as computers go, anyway)

@ macrunning

Take it to an Apple Store and see what they can do. Your machine is still under warranty, you just aren't eligible for phone service. Also, I would get Apple Care now (you can buy it up until the day your 1 year warranty runs out) so that you can have the full phone support and service you need.

You should be well aware, if you have had multiple Macs especially, that Phone support is discontinued after 90 days unless you have Apple Care. In fact, why anyone would not have Apple Care IMO, is a mystery.

Calm down. This is not a new thing for Apple, and if you have owned as many Macs as you say, you should have been well aware of their support policies.

It's got to be Core 2 Duo MBPs. For one thing they need to distance it from the consumer MacBook and for another, all the PC guys have announced Core 2 Duo laptops. Apple was one of the first shipping the Core Duo, they can't afford to get left behind with Core 2 Duo... No more hiding behind the 'PowerPC is different to x86' excuses..!

A new iSight on the way? The one on the online store has shipping for October, and it's been like that for a while now...
