Boot Camp, Apple's software that allows Mac users to run Windows XP on a separate partition, has been updated to version 1.1.1. Specific in this release is support for Core 2 Duo Macs (Mac Pro and new iMac), though the Boot Camp page lists other updates, such as support for built-in iSight cameras and improved Apple keyboard support, that actually appeared in Boot Camp 1.1.This release weighs in at 186MB, and is available from Apple's Boot Camp page.
Thanks Randy

Maybe the iSight is for the Vista, can't get mine to work over there for the moment, maybe I'll try.

I am SICK of having to burn a new cd with each update. Why don't they just allow us to download the driver package? ARGH!

I think the idea is that you already ARE downloading the driver package. Besides, they don't want people to have to go hunting for drivers on their support website. Don't worry, all will be finalized with 10.5. Oh, p.s. ever heard of a cd-rw?

Mac Pros do not have the Core 2 Duo, they are Xeon based. The last Boot Camp update included support for the Mac Pro, and Apple is not being specific if there is any updated support for the Mac Pro as there is a problem with the default SATA drivers. Hopefully it has been fixed with this update. I'll be keeping and eye on xlr8yourmac.com to find out if it has.

@Alan,
Stop being a tard and google, its very well known that you don't have to burn a cd. You can use a thumbdrive, external drive, etc...

@Jeremy: Thanks for the link. Sadly it still requires that you extract the files from the dmg in OSX.
CD-rw's are great and all but I strongly believe that we should be able to simply download the drivers in windows from the bootcamp page rather than relying on 3rd-party sources or hassling with a cd-rw/thumbdrive/external hdd, etc. Sorry if I came off as an obnoxious tard, cause it's really no big deal. :D

You don't need an inofficial way or a CD to get your drivers:
Open the Boot Camp Assistant and select "Save Maxintosh Drivers to Folder..." from the "Utility" menu.
And there you've got you drivers right there! If you have windows on a FAT32 partition you can even save your driver right to your windows desktop!

@ Dan, Do some reading on the Mac Pro before you go ahead demoting it by implying it has Dempsey 5000 Xeons in it. They are Woodcrests and are basically low yield versions of the Core 2 Duo.

You can get iSight on Vista, even without 1.1.1, all you have to do is run the setup in compatability mode(XP SP2), then go to manager, and find the iSight drivers!! It is as simple as that!

I just installed it on my 24" imac, it worked like a dream. The only thing that doesn't work properly that's of issue is how it interprets the display. It windows thinks my display has an extra 2 inches on the top...so the top of programs will start 2 inches above the screen, if you move your cursor up there your screen will scroll up showing you the extra space...but then your start menu will dissapear and be 2 inches below the screen. It's an issue I can live with, but it sucks a little bit. For the most part I'm extremely happy.

Is the right? Have you double checked the desktop size / resolution etc? I do hope that there is a fix for this, as my 24" is about to be built, and I really don't want to have to scroll the desktop around the screen ...

Does anyone know if there's a web support site for boot camp? I can't get my Apple monitor (23") to work with boot camp at all. An old VGA monitor works fine, but not my nice, new LCD.
TIA for any help!

Ok, so I just installed Boot Camp on my Mac Pro, which has two video cards. One monitor works fine, but the other is rotated 90 degrees--Windows thinks it is a tablet! I installed the specific drivers (it is a ViewSonic VA2012 wb) which works perfectly fine in OS X. Ideas on how to rotate? This is just plain weird.

Had a heck of time getting the new wireless card in a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo to install with BootCamp 1.1.1. The driver disk didn't have windows driver for Atheros AR5008 card (PnPID 168c:0024) with draft N capabilities. After searching I found DLink RangeBooster N 650 (DWA 645) driver with the right PnPID's in the .INF. Updated the unknown 'Network Control' device in Windows Device Manager, pointing to the N 650 driver directory. Then installed the Connection Manager application (.exe) for the driver and I was in business. I'm sure others with the new MBP Core 2 Duo with bootcamp will run into this!
