Aperture 1.5

Aperture has just hit 1.5, which will be available later this week as a free upgrade for current Aperture users or $299 for the new users. A new, open library system has been added to allow for storage of photos on a number of different media. It also allows for a subset of photos to be stored on your portable, whilst the rest of the library is on a big disk somewhere.
The biggest news, at least to me, is that Aperture can now run on all Macs, from mini on up to Mac Pro. Third party plugin support is also very cool. For a full list of new features check out What's new in Aperture 1.5.
You can also check out the Quicktour of the new features.

Any word on whether or not 1.5 can identify and delete duplicates?

Ok these updates are finally making some progress but I want to know what other photographers use for photo enhancement and organization instead of Aperture on their mac...

No, according to the linked page it cannot run on all Macs. It can run on all Intel-based Macs. There is a difference.

According to the Apple Store, Aperture 1.5 is a Universal Binary. So it should work on all Macs.

Maybe it can run on all Macs, but is it usable? I hope they've made some improvements since the 1.0. Adobe Lightroom (currently beta4) might be a viable alternative for some of you.

Personally, I've always been partial to Pixmantec's RawShooter.
It's regrettably PC-only, but is easily the fastest and snappiest program of its kind that I've come across, and definitely conforms to the KISS philosophy. The RAW engine behind it also feels like it's a step up from Adobe's.
I am glad, however, that Apple's trying to keep the user community behind Aperture in good faith by offering these upgrades and improvements for free, admitting that the early versions of the product were somewhat unusable.

tethered Aperture workflow. Maybe not native but still works well. Using automator, your camera, and aperture. No other third party programs.

@schmod:
Adobe has purchased the RawShooter engine from Pixamantec, and has already begun incorporating it into Lighroom. Beta 4 already has some of the features, and we can expect to see more as they get closer to final release.
