Microsoft Messenger for Mac 6.0
Microsoft has just released its first Universal application: Microsoft Messenger for Mac 6.0. New in 6.0, besides the fact that it is Universal, are the following features:- You can chat with Yahoo! Messenger buddies
- Add status messages
- You can display what is currently playing in iTunes
- Custom emoticons
- Spotlight integration
- spell checking
- I can't set a 'note' like I can on the Windows version (unless I am just daft)
- Every time you initiate a chat with someone you get a long winded message telling you not to give out your credit card number to people on IM
Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

You still don't seem to be able to pick your status before you sign in (so you can appear offline). Either I'm retarded or it's something else for MS to fix...

Well at least yours works! when ever I double click someone to chat to, theres a pause and then MSN just closes and brings up the OSX error report.
I'm on Panther.

It's easy to get rid of the credit card warning. Open up your Applications folder (or wherever Messenger.app is stored). Navigate through Contents, to Resources, to English.lproj. In that folder, find InstantMessageWindow.strings and open it with a text editor. At the bottom, it will say something along the lines of IMWarning = "Don't give out your credit card infoz, omg!";
change it to:
IMWarning = "";
voila!

Hey thanks Sticky! It always auto-signed in before I had a chance to do anything. This means I can lurk again, hurrah!
Does it also mean I have to apologise to MS? :-(
