Fraser Speirs already released a Flickr plugin for Aperture, but what about the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom users in the crowd (John Gruber has a nice piece on the ridiculousness of adding the 'Photoshop' prefix to Lightroom's name)? As it turns out, through a little trickery, Lightroom can be tweaked for uploading your images to Flickr. This Mac OS X Hints post describes the simple setup, as well as a couple of drawbacks, to using Lightroom and the official Flickr Uploadr tool in conjunction; one simply needs to change the external editor preference to the Flickr Uploadr, then chose the Uploadr as the option from the Post-processing page during an export. Check out Mac OS X Hints though for more details and possible inspiration for asking Mr. Speirs (nicely) for a true-blue Lightroom Flickr plugin.

"Photoshop Lightrooms" isn't one tenth as stupid as "CS". Before the CS generation of applications was released I knew it was an idiotic naming convention.
Now we have people using InDesign 2, InDesign CS, InDesign CS2 and (referring to InDesign 3, aka InDesign cs) InDesign CS3. Wait until InDesign 5 (aka InDesign CS3) and there'll be even more confusion.
Also, what is the bloody point of calling each component "CS"? Doesn't "CS" stand for "Creative Suite"? If so, then how can just Illustrator be "Creative Suite", and just Photoshop be "Creative Suite"?
But by far the worst result of this is that all products must be upgraded simultaneously. So if Photoshop 10 is ready for the shelf, the Illustrator 13 will not (just like the last two versions) and we'll be stuck, once again, with a buggy and slow downgrade. Meanwhile InDesign 5 won't really have enough features to justify an upgrade, so poorly thought out and tested features will be jammed in to fill out the New Features list, to nobody's benefit.
All the while we can watch truly great, intuitive, and innovative products like FreeHand and Fontographer get abandoned and used for shelling practice.
Remember when we looked forward to Adobe upgrades? Will we again?
