Kids still like iPods
Gene Munster, an analyst for Piper Jaffray, has just completed a survey of teens focused on MP3 players. His findings aren't too shocking: the kids like iPods. 79% of those who own an MP3 player have an iPod of some kind while 76% who are planning to buy an MP3 player in the next 12 months will be buying an iPod.Seems like the iPod is still hip and with it, much like this humble blogger. Cool, daddio.

See, Scott, I'm conflicted. As an ironic child of the 90s, I do see Hawaiian shirts as being cool -- but only in the "lame is the new cool" sense. I haven't heard anything about fat being the new thin, though I'll guess I'll have to trust you on that.
But I'm really confused now. I mean, those cool cats down at Piper Jaffrey say the iPod is still the bee's knees. But Mike "hepcat" Elgan boldly declares the Zune to be "actually pretty cool."
Oh, which to believe?
Scott, you're charming as ever.
I want to praise you for your posts, in particular using today's bunch as an example of how to do it right. Recently I've been one of *those* commenters, angrily banging away at my keyboard to protest the high number of what I think of as wasted-space-posts, such as those posts which announce anouncements of anouncements to come (http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/25/omni-group-confirms-omnifocus-a-gtd-app-in-the-works/), only to be followed by the anouncement of actual anouncements (http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/27/kgtd-author-enthusiastic-about-omnifocus/), and so on.
Your posts, on the other hand, are constantly bringing me to quick bites of relevant info, new software, and other fresh websites that I've never come across, which is after all what I find to be the real point of reading blogs.
I envy your job, but if I can't be doing it I hope you keep up the good work for me.
Fat is the new thin, and Hawaiian shirts have always been cool.
Right? ;)
If a fat guy with a prediliction for Hawaiian shirts tells me something's cool, damn if I don't believe it.
