Screenshots from the latest Leopard build

These little birdies just keep sending me stuff. First it was screenshots of the as yet unreleased SlingPlayer, and now I find some screenshots of the most recent Leopard build (the next version of OS X). As you can see above previewing files in the Finder has gotten an overhaul, with text files previewing text in their icon (sweet, but mostly useless unless your icons are really big, like in this screenshot).
Read on for a few more tidbits.

IE 7 was just released by Microsoft, and one of the biggest new features, other than tabs, is the anti-phishing measures. Looks like Safari 3 will also have 'em:

Another suspicious website

And another close up of the warning:

Finally, a look at the new layout of Parental Controls:

Why does the Safari 3 anti-phishing dialogue box say "**Google** has identified this webpage as fraudulent..."
Just asking.

It is rumored that Google blacklist databases are used for this feature...

That is not the real eBay site. It's a phishing site
that looks real so that people will be fooled and enter personal information in it.
One way to tell is that the IP address is
right after the http://. No real site does that (or should).
It looks like Apple is using Google's anti-phishing directory, which is why it says "Google has identified".

Interesting that Apple will (might) acknowledge that in the app's dialogue boxes. Not their style...

When I first read that "Try to limit access to adult websites" in my head it sounded like checking that box would only allow you to access adult websites. :)

First off...
@ 2, You're the one that the phishers love. You can VERY clearly see that the URL up there isn't ebay's. but a IP address.
Also, does anyone else notice how, Windows-esque that blue box in iCal looks?

I'm really digging the new look of iCal, hopefully the Safari and Finder teams will take note and follow suit... The white plastic/metal look is so fresh and modern. Very nice...

I like the little page curl to the images/movies. iCal just looks like they switched it from Brushed to Unified -- no great shakes there.
The anti-phising stuff looks interesting. The scammers are becoming pretty savvy, so its nice that Safari can look out for things you might not ordinarily notice (wasn't there some way to actually make the Address *look* like "http://www.ebay.com" but be different? I thought it had something to do with unicode characters, IDN support...something)
I'm still waiting for the visual wow. With CoreAnimation, I'm expecting some "wobbly windows" and maybe some other new hotness. Vista is an interesting beast, and Leopard needs to be just as awe inspiring while feeling more polished. That's a tough task.

What's that in the right corner of the iCal-window, next to the silver-button?

Applications -> Dictionary:
Search: fraudulent
(I know what "fraudulent" means, but I would go with a word even a 10-year old knows. I'd work in "Identity Theft" also because the media seems to cover it every five seconds.)
Good on Apple for working on this. I'd like to believe Mac users are more savvy, but it's probably naïve to think so.

#12...With Apple's current sales spike, more and more "novices" are getting Macs because they don't want to deal with the problems that Windows has, and they can get lulled into a false sense of security. True there aren't viruses and malware like Windows, but phishing is OS agnostic and many grandmother's don't understand that.
The more Macs users there are, the more the user pool becomes polluted. Might need some chlorine.

Google has a service that indentifies fradulent sites (the public service search). It was rumored that Apple is partnering with Google to integrate that security measure, and it appears that the rumors were true. eBay isn't a fraud, but many phishers create sites and emails that look like eBay's in order to get eBay user information from unsuspecting net surfers.

Still wondering about the text in the right corner of iCal, seems to read something like 'USU Central'. And it seems to be a dropdown-menu, but in a place where doesn't suppose to be one. Maybe it's related to Spaces?

I can't wait till MacWorld this January. I'm sure Steve will show off all "Top Secret" features in Leopard he was hinting about. :)

As a recent switcher, I feel so welcomed to the Mac community reading that quote. Hopefully you drink some chlorine straight from the bottle, Josh :)

The item in the upper right corner of iCal is the drop-down to select what timezone to use for the calendar's events.
