Modern Flying Toasters
The two screensavers that I remember most are Star Field and Flying Toasters. Star Field isn't all that whimsical, but luckily Flying Toasters more than makes up for that. Now, your modern Mac can sport flying toasters and toast thanks to Uneasy Silence. This Quartz Composer screensaver is pretty slick, and best of all it is free. Everybody wins!

Flying Toasters has been available for OS X for a while now, as part of the port of all the X-Screensaver screensavers, by Jamie Zawinski (aka jwz).

This is a mac post take it or leave, information is just information. You know perfectly that people will never believe in the same Gods, trust the same politicians. So please go with your political sh.t to MSN.
Afterdark - I miss those days.

Thank god there are many of us not on the left.
You'll see someday that following those Socialists was the downfall of America.
What's wrong with moveon.org? I was under the impression that Mac users were fairly liberal. Al Gore uses a Mac in his "Inconvenient Truth" don't he?
October 20 2006 at 7:23 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI remember using After Dark on an early build of Mac OS X to use After Dark (and play Lunatic Fringe)! I still have the floppies at home - just no floppy drive any more! It was an awesome game - someone should port it!
October 20 2006 at 7:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOh, man, Lunatic Fringe... I LOVED that game. IIRC it was done by the same guy who did another favorite game of mine, Solarian II. Ben Heller - was that his name?
I especially loved the sounds that he used in his games, both Solarian and Fringe.
Unfortunately my copy of After Dark (including Lunatic Fringe) is long lost. But I still have a copy of Solarian II on one of my disks somewhere. Now if only I could get a decent Mac emulator going on my MacBook Pro...
Oh man the memories! I was actually looking for a clone a few months ago but didn't find anything worthwhile. This is great!
