G-Tech iPod control and speaker-equipped messenger bag

Bike messengers and urban trekkers rejoice! G-tech has rolled out a fancy new $130 messenger bag with integrated iPod controls, courtesy of Eleksen's groovy ElekTex "smart fabric" interface. But that's not all - the bag doubles as a boombox thanks to an integrated speaker and a 3.5mm extension jack that you can plug into your laptop or other audio-serving device. And yet somehow they still managed to leave room for your laptop, cell phone and all the other crap gear we lug around all day. It obviously comes in khaki but we're not sure if other colors will be available.

There's no product page up on G-tech's website yet, so check there later for full specs. Availability is expected to be November, just in time for the holiday shopping rush.

I dont get it, is it REALLY that big of a pain in the ass to take out your ipod and switch the track using its own controls? You have to buy some fancy futuristic integrated system to increase the volume? I mean, I know it has speakers and that's kind of cool, but when are you going to use that?

you can get them at target.

but messenger bags suck if you actually use them for school, that shit gets so annoying.

but if your trendy go for it.

That's a pretty sweet bag, but like many "messenger" bags, there's no way it would stand up to actual bike messenger work. My thrashed Timbuk2 is evidence of that.

I'm just sayin'.
