Software Update: iTunes 7.0.2
Fire up yer Software Update engines or head over to the iTunes download page for iTunes 7.0.2. I'm talking to you, brand new 2nd Gen iPod shuffle users - as the read me indicates added support for the Second Generation iPod shuffle and "addresses a variety of stability and performance issues found in iTunes 7 and 7.0.1."Update at your own risk. FairGame compatibility not guaranteed!
Thanks, Lee and the rest who sent this in!

Well, I didn't get switched to another store, but I did have the Software Update window tell me that I didn't need to update...too funny. :)

But I think a more concerning question is where all of the Rainbow albums have gone from the US Store?
Is there a way to go back to iTunes 6.x? Version 7 always takes a long time to start up, much, much longer than version 6; I always get that dialog box that says it's updating the playlist or something (don't have it front of me right now, so I'm not sure of the wording.)

best update ever!
not completely relevant, but...
can anyone tell me what is the point of the 'Apple Software Update' program on Windows?
iTunes tells me that v7.0.2 is available, where as software update tells me that everything is up to date.
The only thing software update seems to update is itself!
Is'n FairGame just generating a transcode? If so, it doesn't really strip the DRM in a lossless form...

This is my favorite "bug" ever. It's hard to imagine how this could happen from a programming perspective though :)
Euan:
The best part of that utility was when it updated itself ot 1.0.2 THEN proceeded to ignore the 7.0.2 release.
Allen:
Yep.
Asif:
I believe that's for the ROKR and other iTunes compatible phones.
