iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition now available in 8GB version

Apple has upped the charitable goodness ante with a new 8GB version of the iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition, which is now available for $249 (same price as the 8GB black version) exclusively at Apple's online and Retail stores.

$10 from the sale of each 4GB iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED goes to the Global Fund to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. No word yet on whether the 8GB version is kicking back more cash to the cause.

Still waiting on those (PRODUCT) RED MacBooks and (PRODUCT) RED iMacs. I say go all out and introduce an entire (PRODUCT) RED "Candy Apple" lineup!

Thanks, Tom!

I'm thinking a line of "Red Delicous Apples" would be good.

Found the greatest quote in the second best source for fake news, The Onion. "Chinese children make iPod to benefit African Children." While chinese children don't make iPods, there is still some horrible truth to that statement. The virtual slave labor that makes the iPod (and yes, I know Foxconn is one of the best employers in China.) is helping to support the fight against aids in Africa. Weird. Not that the Gap clothing is any better.

Cringing, 4GB-RED-nano-toting kid checking in.

If only my patience could have held out for 10 more days...

(And to make things worse, it's kinda hard for me to sell it on eBay - I've got an engraving on it... Waaaaaahhh..........)
