TUAW podcast #14
I bought myself a new iPod shuffle on Friday, and I thought what better way to share this with TUAW readers than to film the unpacking? That's just want I did. A more comprehensive review is in the works, but for now check out what $79 will get you.As usual, you can grab the podcast via a direct link (69megs), our podcast RSS feed or in the iTunes Store podcast directory. Enjoy the show.
Let me know if you enjoyed this video podcast.

errr...the podcast is not showing up in the RSS feed.
bueller....bueller?
Good show. I'm agonizing between getting a Shuffle or a low end Nano. It was great getting to see it in person to to speak. :)
OK - I found a discussion with my autofill issue; http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1181&start=0
Turns out the Shuffle will not autofill podcasts or audiobooks. I was able to drag my smart playlist into the shuffle's "Contents" tab, but I am disappointed in the limitations of the software.
I received my shuffle on Friday, and enjoyed unpacking it until I ran into an issue. Since I can't find any mention of this on the web, I'll rant about it here.
I can't seem to load podcasts onto my shuffle. I have a smart playlist entitled "Unplayed Podcasts", that I tried to autofill from. I get "Update is complete", but my Shuffle is empty. I can, however, update from a playlist containing only songs.
After trying out several different playlists, I've noticed somewhat of a pattern; tracks in ~/Music will transfer, but tracks in ~/Music/Podcasts will not.
Anyone else running into this?
Question... why doesn't http://podcast.tuaw.com/rss.xml actually contain any podcast?

Hi Scott thanks for posting this video. Our family was treated to a 5.5G iPod a few weeks ago (our first) and I absolutely love it, but I'm thinking of treating myself to a new Shuffle too, and this video sounds interesting.
I was wondering though, is this video iPod compatible? David's last video podcast on Quicksilver (again really great) wasn't. Could you possibly produce an iPod compatible version, if it's not too much hassle?
Thanks!
Scott, Thank you for allowing us to live (or in my case re-live) the unpacking... although a review might have been more interesting? Incidentally, the status LED is on both the bottom and the top (so you can see it whilst in the dock, but also out and about if the iPod is upright).
