How to: Make a travel case for your second gen iPod shuffle

This How To might have a limited audience, since it is only relevant to people who own the following items:
  • Apple in-ear headphones
  • a second gen iPod shuffle
The in-ear headphones come with a case that is suitable for use as an iPod shuffle case, with some alterations. Follow these instructions, which consist mainly of getting rid of the pins inside the headphone case, and you've got yourself an Apple branded shuffle case. Pretty sweet.

FWIW, the 2G shuffle fits inside the Sony EX-71 carrying case, as long as you aren't using Sony's extension cable.

This is a travel case, for storing it in your backpack or computer bag when you TRAVEL! And i am not recomending people to buy a apple in ear headphone set, im advising against it, but if you made the mistake of buying a set then get something out of it!

Jesus people...

If anyone is interested I'll post my instructions to use a 2nd gen ipod shuffle as a clothes-peg, a hairpin and a moneyclip. Also I'll post instructions to knit a shirt for a ipod nano second gen using three in-ear phones and a first gen ipod shuffle lanyard.

As I type this I'm also uploading the video I created with instructions to create a 2gig ipod dual with two first gen ipod shuffles and a drop of glue.

As they are sold, Apple's in-ear phones are pretty crappy in that it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep them sealed in your ear, which is essential for them to sound halfway decent. However, with the following modification they stay in your ear, and sound great:

I've had these 'Frankenphones' for almost two years now, and I love 'em, especially for the price.

I kinda like the idea, but I am just wondering, why does the shuffle need a case? It is kinda made to live on a belt or similar object.
