Justin Long a Mac no longer?
Radar Online is reporting that Justin Long, the actor who plays the part of the Mac in Apple's Get a Mac campaign, is no longer an Apple spokesman. A new round of ads is being worked on with John Hodgman (the PC) and director Phil Morrison but Justin Long with not appear in them, according to his 'people.'Was this Apple's decision, or Justin's? We may never know, but Justin's representative said, "Justin's a movie star, not a commercial guy."
So, dear TUAW readers, who do you think should fill his shoes as the Mac in the new commercials?
Thanks, Matt.

Don't know who would replace him, but I'm currently seeking some way to pay back my Apple-induced spending spree :)

Is this a perfect opportunity for Hodgman to 'switch'?

I think the term "Movie Star" is just a bit optimistic.

Me?
But... I'm more of a short film star, not a commercial star.

Yeah, that dude's career is really taking off! I've seen the guy in like 3 movies!

A bit part in GalaxyQuest, those Jeepers Creepers movies, and a couple of supporting roles in failed TV shows does not make you a movie star.
Hodgeman rules the commercials anyways, and Justin Long has always make the Mac look like an arrogant prick. I for one welcome our new replacement Mac metaphor overlords (excuse the hip slang of this here series of tubes.)

I agree with #2. Its time for John Hodgman to switch. Lets get a new PC in the ads. And Justin Long was in Accepted, which was halfway decent.

Let PC switch and then get Joey Lawrence as the new PC. The Hodgman can show PC some cool new things he learned how to do in iLife. Then Joey can saw "Whoa!"
That would be awesome. Also, joey lawrence would need to grow his hair back out so it looks like he is still in Blossom.

Bring back Jeff Goldblum.

I'll not miss him. PC is waaaaaaaay cooler and more likable than Mr. Long with his I-am-cool-and-know-it-all style. I'm so trendy, I'm soooo iPod. No wonder that he earned hatred from people on the streets. Don't get me wrong I love my Mac but we don't have to stress that image of the trendy know-it-all.
I would like Will Ferrell as a replacement. ;)

My four year old might be available but I would have to check with his agent (his mom).

What about some new commercials in a completely different style?
P.S. I can't stand actors who are in a couple of movies and suddenly think they're God. Lindsay Lohan is exactly the same and I just want to punch her in the face.

Anyone would be better than him. He often muttered in the commercials, making it difficult to understand him (note that I like the guy's movie work).
