KLM and Air France deny iPod integration plans
Yeah sure, they may get around to it eventually, but according to Reuters today, both KLM and Air France deny any firm plans to provide iPod integration into their air fleet. A KLM spokesman stated that 'there have been "informal contacts" between Apple and the airline..."We have no idea if this is technically feasible, if it's financially viable, or it customers want it," he said. "At this moment, we have absolutely no intention of introducing it on board"'.

But Apple says different (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2006/nov/14ipod.html)
So it must be true?

Looks like Apple is spreading rumors by itself now...

"No idea if the customers want it". Duh.
They've probably been leaned on by Microsift to Zune-ify their planes instead. (There I've mentioned the Z-word).

"We have absolutely no intention of introducing it on board." I.e., we hate our customers and want to make sure that flights are no fun at all.

Like most members of the airline business they're probably just not happy about being pre-empted in their announcement. Airlines like to sound like they're the ones creating the innovative ideas for their customers instead of other companies... It's the same reason that Boeing's Connexion service flunked... Airlines don't want to have to give credit for their innovations to other companies...

It could be a very clever ploy to see how many people want it.

KLM and Air France have merged over a year ago. Funny Apple sees them as two different companies.
