Widget Watch: Nike+ iPod Challenges and Goals widgets

I have been trying to get in shape, but I haven't yet gotten myself a Nike + iPod sports kit. When I do, though, I will be sure to download these two Widgets that Nike has just made available (they are currently in Beta, but what isn't?). One widget tracks your challenges (you can challenge another user, or group of users, of the NikePlus website to challenges) and the other tracks your goals (the person above has a goal of running 300 miles in 30 days).

At the moment they are only available to registered users of the NikePlus website.

Thanks, Hugh C.

For downloading the widget, you can find it here, on the Apple Website :

Metric yes - it's a setting on your iPod which flows through to the nikeplus site and the widgets. Just downloaded them - they work fine.

I really dig this whole concept. It's like a video game you play with your feet!

And dude, that's a lot of running.

Just select "english" and "USA" as country, and you're able to download the widgets

I can't find them in English with an American account... maybe I'm missing something...

Didn't find them with a german account, even with U.S. English selected as language. What a pity.

the new trash talking feature on nike + is pretty cool too.

Great! But only imperial measurements? No kilometres?

"...they are currently in Beta, but what isn't?"

Good point Scott, and one which John Gruber had a strong point of view on recently as well ( http://daringfireball.net/2006/11/beta_excuse )

I'm all for innovation and so on, but when we are asked to pay $40 for an app which is still in Beta (and the name of which has completely escaped me - help me out here!), things are starting to get out of hand.
