Snowfall

I don't know about you, but I love snow. I love watching it fall, I love frolicking in it, and I love it when other people shovel it off the sidewalk. Thanks to Russell Warneboldt I can enjoy a fantastic Snowfall screensaver on my Mac and watch the snow for hours on end.
Rumor has it Apple is running this screensaver in their retail stores, but I can neither confirm nor deny that.
Snowfall is free and requires Tiger.

Great find. I saw it on digg earlier and replaced my old "hills" screensaver. I love it.

It reminds me of a TV commercial for either Target or Macys, I cant remember which.

It makes my dual 2.7 G5 squeak when it runs. Any one know how to fix that?

I tried both this and LotsaSnow and think I prefer the latter. Here's a link to LotsaSnow: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20033

Oh, and with LotsaSnow, be sure to go into the options and check the 'Snow falling on desktop' option to make it look really nice.

#4: that squeaking may be something to do with CPU napping, following the instructions at the page below fixed screensaver chirping for me:

I personally enjoy SnowSaver the best, it features really smooth rendering and customizable background colous.
I couldn't find a link to the developer's site but you can get it here:

Saw it on digg today too and have it running now. Very festive and not tacky looking which isn't easy where snowflakes are concerned.

It's not running in my store, the screen savers are product oriented, and are distributed by corporate. It would be a very serious breach to run a different screen saver. Looks cool, though.

Very nice. The other thing I like about Snowfall is that the Quartz Composer animation works as a background for Visor. Snowy console!
