LotsaSnow
If I'm not careful I might become known as 'the snow guy' here on TUAW, but I can't resist. Many people in the comments on Snowfall pointed me to another snow themed screensaver by the name of LotsaSnow. LotsaSnow can make it appear as if snow is falling on your desktop, or display the snow against a blue background. It can also display a clock, just in case you need to know exactly how much time you're wasting watching the virtual snow accumulate.
LotsaSnow is free and Universal.

does it take less resources? That Snowfall screen saver had my notebook's fan running the whole time it was on. That can't be good for the equipment's lifespan.

Dude...LotsaWater and LotsaGlass are WAY cooler than LotsaSnow. In my opinion, the snowflakes are too big and detailed. I'd almost prefer smaller, less defined flakes. As 'pre' said, they're available for free on MacUpdate.
