Beta Beat: Parallels puts beta 2 goodness in stockings
Mere days before the big sleigh ride, Parallels has kicked out Beta 2 of the next Parallels Desktop. This build features improvements to Coherence mode, Boot Camp compatibility, USB2 high-speed support (no audio/video in, but HDs and printers are OK), CD burning, Coherence mode app-docking and hide/show integration... busy busy busy. The beta support forum at Parallels is pages deep with issues and caveats on the first round of the beta, especially with respect to Boot Camp partition support. Apparently the bug that prevented use of FAT32-format volumes has been corrected, but please proceed with caution; you can track issues with the new build on this thread. Owners of the current PD release can use existing activation codes with the beta, and newbies can request a trial key.

This is seriously good!
You have to see it to appreciate it so here is a short screencast:

All the updating means Windows and MS Office keep wanting to revalidate themselves.
Driving me nucking futs!
hot damn, they just keep making this thing better and better. I can't wait till i get a second gig of ram for my mbp so i can run windows all the time on my second monitor (don't worry, i'm a web developer, so i have to test in ie)

My only complaint is the screen redraw when moving a window around in Coherence mode. I'm running on a MBP. I hope they can smooth that out a little.
It's really encouraging to see them add so many nice features and taking advantage of OS X.
Just updated my own install, and Boot Camp integration is working now -- was not with the previous build. W00t!

They must have just re-sent the old key to my original email address. It seems to me they'd want to LOWER barriers to testing their software, but whatever...
I tried the previous beta and now, when I enter the new trial key I just requested, I get a message saying the triel key has expired. But I JUST requested that they send it to me JUST NOW.
WTF?! Do they not want me to test their software? How do I get around this? I tried uninstalling and then deleting any vestigal remnants but it still things the trial key is no good. Did I miss any config files? Little help please!
I am downloading the first beta (at a measly 15 kb/s) since this one doesn't work for me. All other versions did, but now I'm faced with a black screen and no way to install the Parallel Tools since I can't see where I have to click.
I had a suspended machine, it balked at that and then basically drove my machine into gay pride beach ball overkill.
Again, weird considering all previous Parallel upgrades and betas... but tread carefully.
Thanks for the mirror Dan, their site is totally dead for me.
